It’s possible to use the default language files, a cool feature. The
trans the function will return the database version if the requested translation is in both the language files and the database. We also considered performance when creating the package. We will retrieve all the language lines when you request a language line within a group. This avoids having to query each language line separately laravel localization package. To avoid queries from language lines, we’ll cache the entire group. The package can be extended easily. Imagine that you would like to store your translations in a YAML file or CSV file instead of in a database or PHP file. Or, you could create your translation provider.
We will use Carbon to localise dates. Carbon is included with Laravel as a default. Carbon documentation demonstrates many incredible possibilities. We could create our own localisation rules and display the current date in the chosen language. Let’s update our
routes/web.php welcome page route to pass the localised date message to our welcome view. This is the most tedious part of Laravel localisation. Laravel configurations are stored in the
global keyword. Now that Laravel is installed globally, we can
copy go to a directory and then create our application. In this case, we will make the application in the directory.
Log in to your Localazy account by going to the signup page. Next, choose your organisation’s name and select English as the source language. You can also enable the Use Community Translations ( ShareTM ) option for some strings to be automatically translated Locally. Just a reminder: We want to automate our workflow using GitHub Actions. Skip to the next section if you don’t wish to test it locally. Developers sometimes want to try translations while they are developing. I wanted to ensure that everything was set up correctly before using GitHub actions. If you are interested, I will show you.
Finally, you may use Waavi\Translation\Middleware\TranslationMiddleware to ensure all URLs are correctly localised. The TranslationMiddleware will only redirect GET requests that do not have a locale. This package allows you to load translation from the regular Laravel localisation files (in /resources/lang), from the database, from cache or in a mix of the previous for development. You may configure the desired mode of operation through the translator.php config file and the TRANSLATION_SOURCE environment variable. If you choose the database method, you would have to run package migrations and then command PHP artisan translator to load the files into the database.
